Goals & Gratitude 2/10/20

It was a long weekend and I am actually glad that the week has started. I slept really poorly on both Friday and Saturday nights, so by last night, I was bushed. I was in bed at 8 pm and asleep a half hour later. I woke up at 6:45 am and felt much, much better. I have been going since then. I tutored my friend N. in English today. She goes to my church and immigrated here from Syria 10 years ago, but does not speak English well and is self-conscious. I am going to her house every Monday to talk with her and practice grammar, reading, etc. She has a large vocabulary, but doesn't know the grammar very well. We will work on that. She is very grateful to have me and loves to feed me. Yum! I had Turkish coffee, Turkish delight candies, rice with beans, and chicken-yogurt soup. I had never had the soup before and it was very good. I will be eating a light dinner tonight!
I have been struggling with gaining and losing the same 5-6 pounds, so I am starting to try Intermittent Fasting as of today. A Spark Friend suggested the app Simple, so I downloaded that and set it up. I am supposed to fast 14 hours and eat 10 hours for right now. That means I have one hour left to finish eating, so I need to get going and go cook. I am hoping that it will help me with the nighttime snacking that so plagues me. My weight is down as of today and I want to keep it that way this week. I also see my psychiatrist on Wed. I want to switch one of my anti-psychotics to a different one. The one I am on is linking to weight gain and has the side effect of causing you to be hungry. I would really like to be off of it at this point. We will see what he says.
My class finishes this coming Sunday. I have three chapters to complete this week, along with 2 or 3 other assignments and an extra credit assignment that I would like to do. The assignments are due Thursday and the chapter work is due Sunday. Not too heavy. I am going to read this evening to see if I can get some more work done tonight.

1) That I found Valentine's Day cards for my godmother and my Dad.
2) That I got to spend the afternoon with N.
3) That it is a little bit warmer out.
