Taking lessons from my body- Happy Valentine's Day to all

Friday, February 14, 2020

good Morning - last night I had an attack from my sciatic. It was starting just b/4 I went to bed. But I was woken by the sharp pain, I had to think - what now. I used my sports tape, etc.
Nothing worked so I finally put my back brace on - this worked. I have known my sciatic problems stemmed from my hips. The pain is not in my back any more, but actually improving b/c it is in my hip only on one side. I do my exercises for this, but I need to be patient. Exercising actually helps strengthen but it has to be the right kind. My body is changing as I age and I need to take care to listen to my aches & pains. emoticon I woke up to a lovely poem from my DH. He writes poetry for the special occasions. When we were first married, he wrote poems all the time to me. I am very grateful that he still wants to give me a poem on special occasions. I truly appreciate his lovely effort. DH has really calmed down and keeping busy without me be involved. TG I could not take any more stress. DS went to his counselor and talked to her about his situation. I did not ask - just thanked him for going. Last night DD asked us to go to my GS valentine's party and bring him home. My GS sent a video asking us to come. We love doing things for our grandkids.
For years my DH could not come due to his job, but now he can come and actually enjoys it emoticon yesterday, I got an email from my niece - asking for help emotionally. She is having anxiety attacks that stem from her mother's death 5 years ago. I have been trying to get her to see a counselor. She finally went to one. She gets anxiety that she is going to come down with a disease and die like her mother did. We were communicating all day yesterday. emoticon DH was doing good this morning. He is demanding my attention. He goes to his office to work on our budget and then wants to tell me about it. I want to hear but he starts talking as he is going down the stairs. I am not paying attention until he is in my room. I say I need to turn off the TV and please repeat what you said. He gets upset and goes back to his office. He then comes down and talks to me. I tell him I am not going to talk with you unless you are in the room and the TV is off. I need to focus on what you are saying. I did not get much sleep last night and I need to focus. My BP is high - that is from lack of sleep. I am going to really take care of myself today. Take a bath and relax. DH just went out to rake leaves. I love doing that, but not today. I have to be careful. I am going to do my meditation on healing my body. have a Happy Valentine's Day. emoticon

The minute my DH walks in the room, I pause the TV program. I wish he would do the same for me. emoticon

Sorry your sciatic pain has returned. **SIGH**

How sweet that DH wrote a poem for you! I got a card and a single red rose. Sweet.

Glad to hear he’s calming down! Working on that w/my DH. **SIGH** Getting better but still needs lots of reminders. It’ll happen!

Awwwwww, how sweet that you’ll go to your DS’s Valentine’s Party AND that he asked you.

That is a good step forward that your niece is going to a counselor. HOPE it helps her calm down. And DS, too. I HOPE that the counseling helps him see the direction he needs to move in.

OMG, I am CONSTANTLLY telling DH that I cannot hear him, because of my hearing and he’ll start talking to me from another room or to my back. I am constantly reminding him that I need to be able to look @ his face to read his lips. I get my hearing aides on Monday and hoping that helps.

    Happy Valentine's Day! HUGS
