Always a lesson

Went to get my hair done this morning always happy to have fairly decent looking hair for a couple of days. I take after my grand mother's when it comes to getting my hair to do what I want it too. My mother's mother's hair looked like Olive Oil because she put a couple of pin curls on the front top and over her ears. My dad's mother always got hers almost completely cut off because it was so unruly. It has never been good for me to be left alone with my hair so it is a real treat to be able to get it done a couple of times a month and feel put together for a couple of days. The older lady that comes in after me doesn't even wash her own hair anymore but comes and has Rita do it every week. I hope I can always at least be able to wash my hair.
Rita's new grand baby took his lovely time getting out. They started to induce her on Monday and he finally came out Wed. evening. But mom's only about 5'4" and that baby was 9 1/2 lbs and almost 22" long. By my standards that is giant. My first one was 4 lbs. 3 oz. and my 2nd was 6 lbs. 9 oz.
It was a pretty good day but did include a nap and left overs. So I'll have to cook tomorrow.
1. lots of prayers being said for my friends
2. enjoying the sun and blue skies until it snows again
3. played my computer game quite a bit today
Sometimes I really wonder what goes thru my mind when I'm shopping. When I was at the store on Tues. I bought some beautiful summer sausage thinking I'd have sandwiches later this week. Well I have no mustard and summer sausage just isn't good with out that. And since it's the only thing I need at the store I'm not going to town for one thing. I am going to make an appt. for my car to get its oil changed later this week so I'll do some shopping that day. I have to take it to the dealer in Mankato because I paid for the maintenance plan. Don't always like the drive but do really like their service. Buck also needs his nails clipped this week.
That quilt block is one of 12 in that color way. I also have the finishing kit for it to make it into a queen sized quilt and when it's finished that one is being donated to the nursing home down the street for their winter auction. So i have 2 more blocks before the 12 are done but will finish the ones I need to have finished for Jan. before I start another hard one. Fran it really isn't so hard as long as you allow for a mistake or two because a finished quilt is much better than a perfect one. They really only go together one little piece at a time.
