Can you pour from an empty cup? How will you give to others if you, yourself are empty? Recharge with some self-care!

What is self-care?
It is so different to every single person! Many recharge with prayer and devotions, spiritual time. Others recharge by getting a spa day or a mani-pedi, massage or hair cut. Some like to be quiet and read a good book. I personally enjoy being quiet in a candle lit room and just enjoying the silence while talking to God. I recharge completely differently by spending time with my best friend watching movies and differently yet, by listening to upbeat music.

You see, my recharge has to do with my mood at the time. I recharge with God period. My best friend can lift me out of depression. Musical recharge motives me to take on the day. I do spa recharge too, but at home, where I can afford it. I do that when I have low self esteem. We have to figure out what works for us and when.

Toxic people, takers, narcissistic people, angry hot heads, abusers.... they can all take a toll on us. They do exist in our lives. Sometimes cutting them out is next to impossible, but we CAN shift our focus. We can focus on more positive things for ourselves and nurture ourselves with positive self talk and putting up with less.

Positive focus takes practice and when you are in the middle of domestic abuse or disability or both. There are many situations where positive focus is hard to come by. Prayer was the answer for me and God led me to SparkPeople and here you all were!

Love you allπŸ’•! Thank you for the strength!
