The time, it does fly!

It seems like ages ago since I started on this journey of weight loss for my oldest daughter’s wedding. She is now expecting baby #3 next month! I feel that I have learned a few things along the way.
One is that if you make a commitment in general, to anything, make sure you are keeping that promise to yourself or it winds up meaning nothing. That being said, it still may be one of the more difficult thing for me to do. I have this wonderful capacity for making excuses!

One of the other things that I have learned is the ability to accept and learn from my fellow members. When I first did a challenge one of the leaders, whom I eventually co-leadered with, was quite harsh when someone made an error in any way. This is somewhat of the model I followed but now, due mostly to wonderfully accepting “other” leaders, I smile and understand that we all have different backgrounds, lifestyles and beliefs; no one is better than anyone else!

The last for now is truly a Biggie in my book, and I do believe it follows SparkPeople beliefs, is that we all need to focus on getting healthy as a priority over getting smaller! While lots of exercise does not always bring us the weight loss we want, it does help us to be healthier people with a better brain and stronger body overall. Also, no matter what diet one is following, the quality and quantity remains important for our health and certainly, reaching our goals.

I am certain that no matter what age I am, I hope to continue to learn and grow and I give thanks to all my fellow members in achieving this goal!
