The movers came February 6, 2020. We got the man we wanted as the truck driver and he hired two truck lumpers once he got to Kentucky. They were at the house at 8 o' clock in the morning on February 6th. Our water meter had been pulled so there was no water. My husband had to buy bottled water so we could flush the toilets. Another day, our electric was turned off and we had to pay over $300 to get the power company to turn it on again.
I was in the bathroom and heard noises, but the window in there is frosted and I couldn't see out. I went to the kitchen and saw a heavy wire attached to our house and to a pole with a transformer on it. I called the pastor's wife and she had power. I called Kentucky Power and was told that we would have to pay this fee to get our power on. The pastor's wife invited us to eat dinner with them and we did. She made "cowboy meatloaf." The next day, after my husband paid the fee, I saw a man in the side yard and we had to turn the power on at the breaker box, but we had power again. It made me angry that nobody told us that the power was going to be shut off. I am grateful that nobody had a medical condition that required the power to be on.
I am almost finished unpacking boxes. We have an attached garage and a detached garage. There is an acre of ground as a side yard and Bayou loves running around on it chasing her ball.
I am down to 214 pounds.
