Day 24/600 - to blog, or not to blog
Monday, March 09, 2020
So, I figured something out.....
One of my commitments is to write my journal/blog every day. Last time around I did really well, and I started off well this time, too. But I came to the realization that this is not a good commitment (at least for me), for a couple of reasons.
1. I often simply can’t think of anything to write - at times I really struggle and I don’t want to make stuff up just to be “consistent” (by the way, I truly appreciate anyone who makes the time to read my journal, and thank you for stopping by and your support)
2. When I started to not blog for a few times last time around, I felt seriously disappointed that I broke my commitment, and it became one contributing factor to my downward spiral.
So, I’d rather be consistent recording my food intake, drinking my water, etc.
This way, I give myself the liberty to journal when I feel I have something to say/record and avoid setting myself up for failure on this part.
Although this may not be the most mind blowing discovery, I am really proud that I recognized this a couple of days ago, and feel a lot better than Saturday evening when I was staring at my screen for 30 minutes, drawing a complete blank. The problem I have, if I commit to something, I expect 100%, and nothing less. Inevitably, I disappoint myself at one point.
So, this time around, I give myself permission to not be perfect, just awesome.....yes, awesome is good enough......
Anyways, had a great weekend, and a great day today. Was on point the last 3 days and I am super positive that I am making this happen.
Day 24 - 17 lbs down - only 183 lbs or 576 days to go to 220lbs
