I hope you are doing well under these challenging times for all of us around the world!
Try to stay as calm as possible so the stress doesn't become a drag to your immune system and do your best to get enough sleep, good food, and exercise. Everything adds up.
Today is Day 114 of my 10+ fitness minutes streak. I've tracked every single day, which makes this fun because now I have a bunch of data and can calculate that my daily average for those 114 days is just over 47 minutes per day. I still love this combination of using the 10 minute hurdle to get me started in a day, but then also focus on my daily average and totals for the week.
But, keep in mind that a good amount of my minutes are light activities like stretching, balance board, hand grip, and more. And some are heavy activities like jump rope and sprints.
This will be such an interesting time period for all of us. I hope you are all safe and sound.
You may have seen this, I love these videos of quarantined Italians singing together -- what a beautiful moment. This first video is neat because it includes people from China joining in for solidarity:
I loved the videos. Nothing like music to brighten your day.
I am totally blessed. Since my DH passed last year, God has provided! He is awesome. I live in a small town here in Florida and the nearest case of the virus is about an hour away. Staying home most of the time to avoid catching anything!
God Bless you and praying for continued health to you and your family.
Good to see your blog and glad you're doing so well! So am I!!! Let's hope this C. Virus goes away soon- like maybe a cure or vaccine! I saw that about the Italians- pretty cool! I just hope people here in the States are following the protocol to self quarantine, etc. or the worst could happen. Stay well. Supplements are important too for everyone! 74 days ago
I'm glad that you are right on your target of getting stronger. Here in NY it seems that everything is getting locked down. The Tubes were very pleasant and left a smile on my face. Take care of yourself and yours. 74 days ago
It makes feel good to see the multitude of people doing what they can to combat this nasty virus. I'm hoping all the panic starts to settle down. Together we all will get through this. Keeping up with the precautions even after this has passed, I feel will be positive thing. I'm glad to see people pulling together to accomplish things and also business putting their employees first and not money.
This will pass just like it has in the past. Keep you, your family and your employees safe. Thanks for the blog today. 75 days ago
Love your Blog! Chris, I know you have heard this before, so many people have be inspired by your Blogs. You have created and given us a "safe room" a place to go, meet others, discuss our lives, with the best benefits of all.....CHEER, Inspiration, and knowing we are not alone.
I started SP 2010, but through medical and personal issues, I stopped about 2016. But shortly after I stopped, things happened, my sister passed away, and so on. So now I am back on SP....FOREVER!!!!! I know this is the place to be, so again, Thank You!
PS I bought your book, and several SP items over the years....I cherish them. I keep your book in my "VISUAL BINDERS" which are TWO large 3 ring binders, filled with inspirational notes, articles, exercises, photos of me, etc. I look at these everyday, and some times more than once. 75 days ago
Thank you, Chris. We are well. I am concerned for the vulnerable among us and am doing what I can to support the programs that support them. There have been an avalanche of closures (schools, businesses, events, etc.) in our county (Contra Costa, California, US) in recent days. It is clear to me that folks are scared.
I sense that one of the good things that may come out of this is neighbors learning more about their neighbors and perhaps a rebirth of community in ones neighborhoods. Why? Because folks are home. They are not spending most of their time at work and commuting to and from work.
I saw the news of the singing Italians and loved it!
Challenges are opportunities for growth and have the potential to bring out the best in us.
May we choose joy, love and remember the golden rule: treating others as we wish to be treated.
Thanks Chris for showing us that being in quarantine doesn't have to be boring. I love the attitude of those Italians!! If we all keep a positive attitude and stay happy it will sure help. Hubby and I are staying home as much as possible, even tho there are no reports of the virus in our area of the state. We are in our mid 70's so since in taking chances. Eating right and getting exercise also helps your spirits as well as your body! Glad you are doing well. Praying for you and your family! 75 days ago
Well, I an so glad I joined sparkpeople when I did. I lost a lt of weight have kept most of it off and feel very optimistic that me and my family will come through this okay. I loved the videos! Thank you Chris! 75 days ago
I don't know if the coronavirus is hyped up or what. I do know that I continue to exercise, get 8 hours of sleep(rest) and eat right. If I hadn't joined SP years ago, I wouldn't be as healthy as I am now. I did the 5% Winter challenge and lost 7.35% I maintained for years but had a rough year last year. 11 more pounds to lose and I will be at goal. 75 days ago
So happy to hear from you and know that you are ok. All is well in this part of Missouri and trying to live life as normal as we deal with cancellations and closures. Keep up the good work! 75 days ago
I'm having trouble finding groceries to feed my family. No frozen foods , no pasta, no sauce, no tuna, scarce milk, bread and eggs. Forget paper products. Everyone is in panic mode........ 75 days ago
