Insulin & weight loss - any success stories?

Tuesday, May 12, 2020

Help! I'm so frustrated right now.

I've had to go back on long term insulin (for type 2 diabetes) and it has been so hard to lose weight while on it. For the past 1.5 months, I've been exercising each day, watching what I eat, drinking a lot of water, and I keep teetering back and forth between 5 lbs. I feel great overall, and know that my stamina is improving but when it comes to the weight/inches lost, I feel like this is a never ending battle that I am never going to win. I admit, I'm naughty and I have stopped taking it a few times, so I could lose weight, but my numbers get too high so I need to avoid this, although it's sooo tempting. Gah!

PLEASE tell me that some of you have had success stories while on insulin. I need to hear this so my impatience and frustration can take it down a notch. I'm sure I'm overlooking a detail so if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate that too.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings :)

I've been a type 2 diabetic for 17 years and 16 years i was on daily insulin. Last year, I was put on Ozempic. Prior to this, I lost weight, exercise, daily log of blood sugars. I am now in the 130 as far weight. You can do it. Don't give up!

I have been a diabetic for 26 years. I was advised to take my insulin. Check blood sugars before and after any exercise. Then from there you will know what to do. I usually feel ok, my heart be racing but my blood sugar will be st a good number
