I remember my father-in-law - a WWII hero whose service I learned so much more about from a book written about him than from his own lips. Amazing man!

I remember my birth father who served in Korea and began having flashbacks all over again when he was 80. He told me stories that still haunt me and clearly haunted him!

I think of family who served during Vietnam and returned from service as scorned. Such a very sad time.

I think of those serving today in various parts of the world and I get to listen to their stories of protecting communities and building schools.

What will my grandchildren remember? Certainly they will think of this new breed of hero as we fight this Coronavirus throughout our world.

There is a lot to remember, a lot to be thankful for today!

My Dad was in the Navy during WWII and rarely spoke of it. Said it was difficult. That's about it. God bless him. He departed in 2017, and is sorely missed.
