Dear sparkfriends---poem

Sunday, May 31, 2020

If you were God and God were you
And He was given a holiday
To go to church to praise and pray
And then He feasted and stayed away
Without a thought of you or prayer
Or thanks for all your loving care;
If you were God and God were you,
Say - what would you do?

If you were God and God were you,
And a nation set a day for prayer
But only one had time to spare
For every hundred that didn't care
Would you believe they were sincere
And bless that nation again next year;
If you were God and God were you,
Say - What would you do?

If you were God and God were you,
And millions professed a faith in you
As giver of all good gifts and true
But never said thanks or thought it due;
But then when trouble came their way
Expected your help without delay;
If you were God and God were you,
Say - what would you do?

I saw this on a church bulletin from a long time ago when I was christened at two weeks old. Pretty impressive. It was around Thanksgiving time and the verse underneath it read

O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever.
Psalm 136:1

Also, I need prayer warriors to pray not only for whats going on in this world but I'm having surgery. Surgery for what I have seems pretty meaningless compared to what is going on. Tough times. Just sending out word of encouragement to those who at wits end. Please, If you could be safe and careful out there and my hope is with you all.
