This pandemic has affected everything. We moved into our new house February 6, 2020. My husband and I are both veterans and we get our health care through the VA. We went there, and they were in the process of moving into another building in Portsmouth, Ohio. Then the Corona virus hit, and nobody contacted us. I was seen in Hagerstown, Maryland in September of 2019. My husband was able to contact someone at Portsmouth, Ohio which operates through a VA facility in Chillicothe, Ohio. They phoned us both and began making appointments for us. Today I started a class in their MOVE program. I am back on Spark People keeping track of my progress.
I put my desk in the basement and have to go up and down the steps to use my computer. I did gain 3 pounds since last posting my weight on my ticker, but I have been eating like a horse and not putting effort into daily exercise. The classes will be a great motivator.
We are really enjoying our house and property and I haven't been so active in a long time. We had a pool, a pool deck and all the equipment removed from our back yard and an old chicken coop. A man paid us $300 for everything and then asked for $100 of the money back to put everything in a trailer and haul it off our property.
Our son and his wife have visited us, his mother-in-law came out for one of those visits. Our daughter went to his house and rode out to visit us too, The last visit, he brought two of his friends. We have had church members visit us for dinner and I'm loving the feeling of community here.
I had to have teeth pulled due to bone deterioration, and seven teeth are gone since January 2020, My smile is ruined, but I would rather have gaps between the teeth I have left, than to get blood poisoning from them being infected.
Right now I am putting receipts on spreadsheets. I could not find our important papers after the move. Even the paperwork about the sale of our house in Maryland and the purchase of this house was missing. I prayed daily about that. My husband told me that he thought he might know where the paperwork was. He had put it in the Stow N Go (a compartment in the floor of the vehicle) in our car. I would have never looked there. Our tax time was moved forward to July 15, 2020. (God working it for our good.)
I don't have to have a dog license for Bayou here, another blessing. I won $10 from playing computer games at the Publishers Clearing House site. I know this blog is piece meal, but I have a lot on my mind.
