One thing I know for sure is that my personal success in living a healthy lifestyle is directly tied to maintaining a reflective blog. I have been absent here for about a month, and my healthy lifestyle took a nose dive for the last three weeks.
Three weeks ago, I was on Week 7 of the C25k challenge. I altered my run day to Sunday since I had my orthodontist appointment scheduled for first thing Monday morning. Unfortunately, after they pulled two teeth, I was informed that I would not be able to complete any intense workouts for at least 4 days. Additionally, with the teeth pulled and adjusting to the braces, my eating habits became abominable. Soft comfort food and frozen yogurt shakes became my daily jam.
Thus, when Friday rolled around, I was so bogged down with non-nutritional junk food and used to sitting around instead of working out that I kept to it. It's amazing how two months of changing my lifestyle disappeared after only 4 days. It seemed so hard to start on this path, yet it was so easy to revert back to old, unhealthy habits.
After two weeks, I had enough and decided to jump back on the wagon. How did that turn out? Well, let's just say the scale continued to climb up and my energy levels continued to decline. Tomorrow will mark three full weeks of having braces. This fourth week will be a return to healthy living! I started IF again with a prolonged fast to jump start my journey (it's been about 36 hours) and am going to break my fast properly now. Then, in a few hours I'll make breakfast for dinner. Yum!
Here's to a strong start!
