1st & 2nd NSV of the Summer—First of Many, I Hope...

So I thought this was pretty cool, especially coming on the heels of my “Almost Quarantine 15” weight gain last month. Well, not quite 15, but 10 so close enough.

Good news is I appear to already be 6 lbs down. But more important than the number on the scale is my overall fitness. So I noticed this morning via my FitBit app that my resting heart rate seemed lower than normal. The last month or so, it had been in between say 56-62. Well, when I looked at the last two weeks by comparison, I’ve been consistently between 51-54. Hmmm...But the kicker was when I decided to check the reading for my cardio fitness level. I couldn’t believe it! I had been holding steady at 33.9-36 (or very good to excellent) for the last 6 months. Well as of this morning my reading said 34-38–I had moved solidly into the “excellent” range! I am in excellent cardio fitness shape for women 50-59, I said to myself in absolute wonder/disbelief. Just goes to show you (again) how the number on the scale, is literally one piece of the puzzle. I’m not even at my goal weight but I’m completely stoked about where I am in this journey, which is to be on the road to aging well. 🥰

Second NSV? Being able to wrap a standard bath towel around me, tuck it in and have no skin showing. 😮😮😮
