I guess its time for me to give an update on my progress; especially since I quit my gym membership. I am happy to report that everything seems to be going in the right direction. I haven't lost my motivation or desire to keep applying the lessons I am learning in this journey to better health and wellness. The scale is still going down (slowly) and I am fine with that because I have learned not to focus on just the scale. It is amazing how much better I feel every day. I have developed a morning routine which includes cardio (treadmill mostly) interspersed with strength training (hand held weights) two days a week. So far, I do not miss going to the gym. I try to have a healthy breakfast, dinner and a light lunch. I try not to use all my earned calories from exercise and try to stay within my allotted calorie range so as to create a deficit. Mind you, I am not perfect and have some days that go over. However, overall, I am making progress and am learning to think hard before I indulge in something I know is very high in calories. Then, I make my choice and don't beat myself up if I "go for it." I can honestly say that this time I am enjoying the journey and am hoping that my hard work will pay off at my next doctor appointment when I get my blood work done. emoticon
