Still feeling scared

Sunday, July 12, 2020

yesterday i spent the day with running errands with my daughter, then I dropped her off at her dads for game night. Got the dog some food and took my mother to do her errands. Headed home only to get 5 exits away and my front tired blow out. It scared me so bad, i started to cry. Called roadside service only for them to take forever to call me back. Call my ex and he sent his wife and my younger daughter to my aid. Thankfully she drives a newer model of my car. It was to dangerous to change the tire where I stopped. So they called the police non emergency number and the came out. We slowly drove the car to the next exit. it was a slow 20 miles per hour drive with me, my daughter and her stepmom and 3 police cars.

We got to the exit and ran a stop light to turn into a gas station. The 4 policemen changed the tire for me and made jokes to calm us down. I sent my daughter and her stepmom back to her house to report back to her dad. One of the policemen followed me home to make sure I got here safe.

Its been over 30 years since something like that has happened to me.

Your situation has taken me back a day or two (o.k. LOTS of days or twos, because my daughter was about 2 at the time and she is in her 40's now LOL!) Anyway, I never got a flat tyre, however the lights on my car went out driving home from my Mum's. It was through a very hilly, windy section of road - a main highway where ALL northbound vehicles had to travel on. As it was dark, I stopped at the Police Station and asked the cop if he could help me. He finished his dinner, then escorted me home - another 10 miles away. He drove with emergency flashers going and his lights on the top of the car, and went slowly. My husband panicked when we pulled into the yard. He thought I had done something wrong LOL! Mind you, YOU got FOUR cops to help you, and it sounds like they were lovely. Glad it worked out o.k. for you.
