No exercise for me!

Thursday, July 16, 2020

I had 3 appointments at the Minneapolis VA Tuesday. The ortho doctor says much of my problems are in my back, not my hips as I thought. He wants more x-rays (back and knees). He wants me to try physical therapy even though I described my cardio on my elliptical exercise bike and my strength regime with bands and dumb bells.

Next I saw the physical therapist. I does not want me to do the strength training for a while, but says the bike is fine. He did balance checks, asked if my legs are every shaky, etc. I left with a Rollator.

The other appointment was just for labs.

Wednesday on the way to work, my window was steaming on the inside, I reached to clear it while moving (learned a lesson there!). My left hand on the wheel, I automatically pulled it to the left. In an instant I was on the opposite side of the road off in the greenery the car stopped right up to an oak tree! The car was tilted left, my seat belt tightened and my head knocked on the window. Thank God for cell phones and guardian angels. The police said that if I had done it anywhere but into that tree, I would have been down in the deep ravine by the road.

There was much manuvering to climb over the console and shift, scooch my self over into the passenger seat so I could be pulled out.

Nex was the ER. Just blunt force trauma, some scrapes and a sprained shoulder. Lots of chest wall pain today.

Now I can't even so the bike!

Please pray for my speedy recovery, that my car will not be deemed totalled, etc. If you have read this far...I will pray for you!

That's terrible! I hope you get all the time and attention and support that you need to heal completely. I know from experience that the soft tissue injuries can be much worse and last longer than other injuries. I hope you have someone in your home who can respond if you start to show signs of concussion, too.

DEFINITELY praying! Healing for you, discernment for your caregivers and a mercifully light impact to your wallet, too.
