Yes baby steps lead somewhere

I'm a huge believer in baby steps. Let's face it, it originally got us going so why wouldn't we believe it would lead us somewhere great again?

Eight weeks ago I started running again. I set my goal on 5KM a week to start. The first week I split the amount over three runs and pretty sure I walked 90% of it. By the end of the second week I was pretty accepting that I would likely never reach 10KM a week again, let alone the 20KM I dreamed of doing.

I kept plodding away.

Last week I hiked or ran 25KM, I was thrilled. I didn't even realized I did it until the end of the week when I looked back.

This week I've hiked or ran 32KM and I will go out again tomorrow. When I did my 9KM trail run earlier this week I only walked when I hit really steep hills, running for over 75% of the distance. I was truly in my happy place.

I've started tracking my foods again. I had taken a break and while it was working for me I'm back to being more concerned out making sure I'm getting enough calcium, protein and nutrients so my tracking is focusing on my breakdown and less on my calories.

My mind is clear.
My skin is healthy.
I sleep soundly.
My outlook is positive.

Oh and I'm down 15 pounds this month.

That first run was a very small step but it turned out to be a huge one.
