Poems written lately. Post surgery update.

Thursday, August 06, 2020

Hi, I miss you all. I have thought about you all several times over the past couple of weeks. I'm sorry if I worried anyone. Thanks to God and many medical staff that were amazing, I'm doing well post-surgery. I still can't lift over ten pounds due to restrictions but so want to. Don't worry as my DD, is more like a mama than a daughter right now. Thank God she keeps me in line.

I am posting random poems. They are ,relatively, positive and might be calming, maybe. I'm certainly an amateur but its fun anyway. Its a way of passing time and ,also, a way of appreciation for what we do have, today. Please, have a great evening and a great rest of your week and weekend coming up.

Dragonflies of summer, flittering in the soft wind,
Glimmer of gold sunlight through the dark, green branches.
Gold hue twinkling at dusk hour,
To show us a glimpse of God's eternal power.

True everyday, sunset never goes away.
Always there, always present,
to let us know God is prevalent.

True to our hearts, God and I never part.
Always there from sunrise to sunset.
Let us never fail to forget.
No regrets, only love, given to us from above.

Lord enlightens never frightens.
Forgiving us in the Holy way
to begin and end each new day.

Only love, a gift,
always be quick and hear with swift.
the omnipotent Bible of his Holy Spirit to uplift.

God our Father, Savior, Son,
Holy Spirit has always won.
Loving forever, I say,
There is no other way.

Guiding light leading the way,
Starry night beginning to stay.

some time after July 22, 2020
before August.

Ominous cloud looming overhead,
Also, bearing down on trees and grass.

Baby babbling in a nearby home,
Echoing through an open window.

Brings joy in the midst before a storm.
Dog walkers gaining pace before its oncoming.

Out for a walk in the morning coolness
to ensure activity before entering my home.

Oncoming storm, passes and leaves little rain.
Short in time, giving nourishing water to the nearby foliage.

Later, sunny and hot. days of summer.
Kids splashing in a community pool.
enjoying the last days of summer before school.

Sunset gorgeous, viewed beyond the trees. Golden hue.
Pinks, purples and golds line the dusk sky.
Beautiful day, from start to finish.

"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it" John 1:5

No longer fear, only peace in the night.

Rain, rain, pitter, patter
on little roofs.
To succumb to the daily grind.
To reveal the truth of
what is behind.

"Must go forward" is the phrase,
to go on and complete other days.
A moment of conflict,
Sun shining through,
to add to the morning dew.

Few see beneath the misty? tree,
A tiny squirrel,
ever so small.
To gather and return to home.
Safe in the gentle rain,
Calm wind.
"Chirp, chirp", as it lifts
to give happiness and peace.

God's true love in the morning under a tree,
not lightning, just Him and me.
We are free.

True content?
Mindfulness, passing troubles,
change of thought to truth more evident.
Leaving lies behind to see what's
ahead in time.

Love to You, Jesus,
Thank you for gift of love.
