Where did the time go?

Tuesday, August 25, 2020

Wow! Where did the time go? I had intended to blog at least every other day. Well, I made my 21 days, then lie a fool, ate some things with flour and sugar and had some hash browns at breakfast with my daughter yesterday. It was so good to see her . She lives in Branson, MO about four and a half hours from here. We met in Wichita because she was getting some adjustments from her dad who is a chiropractor. She was in a car accident a couple of months ago and has been to her MD and also had some physiotherapy but her dad seems to give her the most relief.

I had decided several days ago to do another 21 day Challenge, but after much thought decided not to do that. Instead, I am challenging myself to a permanent lifestyle change of no sugar, etc. Lifestyle changes should not end, if you are seeking to improve your health. I am adding to my life exercising at least 5 times per week. To begin with walking and then some other varied activities. I would like to begin Tai Chi. I have a DVD teaching Tai Chi and I believe they may have a class at our college wellness center.

I may have failed after the initial 21 days, but to me failure is when you quit trying and I will never quit trying. So, I am back on the wagon of no sugar, potatoes flour, rice ,pasta or corn and I am looking forward to feeling good and losing my excess fat. When I think of all the fuel I have stored on my body. I think of all the energy I can access to accomplish the many projects I have around my home.

I am sorry this was so long. Thank you all for your kind support. It keeps me going and if I can help you in anyway, please let me know. I will do my best to be a good Spark Friend and encourager. Be Blessed.

I love the saying, it doesn't matter how many times you fall: what matters is how many times you get up. It's simple persistence.... Good luck to you with your goals!

It's not a fail, Brenda. You did well. It takes awhile to break our bad habits. Sugar is a tough one. Hang in there.

Go on Youtube and listen to talks by Robrt Cywes M.D. He is a weight loss surgeon but he says in order to keep weight off we have to know what is causing us to be addicted to sugar/starch. He says eating normal food meat/fat/vegetables doesn't make us fat, but the snacking, sugar, fruit, rice/grain, flour, etc does as it is addictive. I found him as I have released 50# and kept it off the past 3 yrs. being on Metformin and Bydureon and I was looking for more information on Type 2 Diabetes. (My blood sugar now is a 100) I never heard a weight loss surgeon talk about avoiding surgery. All of his talks are really interesting.

The only time you fail is when you quit after you fall. You did better than I did with the challenge!

Not long at all! Everyone moves forward and backward. You did not fail. You gained a different perspective.
