When the scale is demotivating

When the scale is disappointing, we can remember that healthy eating is helping us in ways that have not been measured by the scale. For instance, our cholesterol can have improved, our lean muscle mass may have increased, or other health markers improved. For me, I have less pain when climbing stairs, I can walk longer, I have less congestion and fewer breathing problems. Other risk factors are reduced by good nutrition and exercise. Immunity is improved and functional fitness and energy levels increased. That is motivating for me when the scale shows bad news.
