Is it 7 o'clock yet?

Tuesday, September 22, 2020

I'll never forget a line from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Rhoda and Mary were talking about getting ready for a date (I think) and one of them said, "Oh, I need to lose 30 pounds by 7'oclock."

Is it 7 o'clock yet?

We have to remember that it takes a lonnnnnng time to lose weight, especially after child birth.

I'm still carrying around that baby weight, even though my baby is 28 years old.

Sometimes, we may not lose the weight we think we should be. How many times have you gotten on the scale after eating half a tic tac and swirling around water in your mouth for a week, only to find you have gained 5 pounds? Or worse, eaten an entire birthday cake and had to actually go buy another one for the party (I hear this can happen.... *coughs*), only to get on the scale and discovering you LOST 5 pounds?? I think that is worse because I think WHY am I even trying??

What we need to remember is that we can only do our best and to learn to forgive ourselves when we fall off of the wagon. I didn't chart my food all week and I though crap, I already messed up my new habit. But do you know what? I tracked my breakfast today! Kudos to me!

Let's learn to love ourselves and to never give up on our dreams.
We got this!
