September Summary

Hello, friends!
I haven't been as active on SparkPeople for the past month, but I'm back and pumped for the Fall 5% Challenge! I knew I would have to ease up on weight loss last month because of going back to school and adjusting to going back to hectic "real life" for the first time since March.
My (step)son is 6-years-old and in first grade. He tends to be on the fence about school, but he was really excited to go back.
I work part time at the same elementary school he goes to, so we go to school every morning together. Our school was one of the only ones in our state to open full time in September, with 1/3 of students going all virtual. Obviously, we've had a lot of new procedures to get used to to stay safe, but we've been staying positive.
My husband and I also took a long weekend to celebrate our first anniversary. I knew I wouldn't want to be tracking calories while we were away, but we opted for a very active vacation to Bar Harbor, ME and Acadia National Park! We had a fantastic time, even though we were very worn out in the end.
We did a lot of intense hikes, including the Canada Cliffs, Gorham Mountain Trail, and the Beehive.
The Beehive was definitely the scariest, with iron rungs to climb up when the path got too steep. The trail was narrow with a steep drop off down the face of the mountain.
We made it and I'm proud of the progress I've made! I've definitely gotten stronger over the past few months. I can't wait to tackle the fall challenge!
