Critter in the dark

Monday, October 26, 2020

Yesterday, I put together the cat "palace". We just adopted a kitten and she is all over the furniture. I saw this one tower on sale at pet smart - it is huge 70 inches (taller than me) and she loves it, especially the top shelves. But then, she is a bossy cat. I always heard that with cats, which ever one is highest is the dominant one.

Our kitten snuck out of the house last night and as I was trying to catch her, I saw her cautiously approach the door of the shed, which was open. I tried to sneak up on her and then something crashed inside the shed and some critter ran out. Scared the bejeebers out of me!

I am going to go and see if I can identify the tracks in the snow later on this morning. It looked like a cat, but it may have been a racoon. I don't know it was dark and whatever it was, was more scared than me and it took off into the woods.

Your kitten sounds like one lucky cat. I hope he doesn't take a runner at night very often. Some night critters are not as fond of cats as are we. We have to keep our farm cats in at night to protect them from the coyotes.

Most cats are very happy with a high soft perch in front of a window with a bird feeder or hummingbird feeder to look at. Keeps them content most of the day.

My cat loves sleeping at the top of his tower and trying to grab his tail through the hole in the top shelf. He's a weirdo :P
