A not-so-different Thanksgiving for us
Friday, November 27, 2020
The meal event was similar to what I would normally cook, minus snacking goodies for the early part of the day. I've learned better! Our bubble--mates DD2, SIL2 and grand dog arrived early to "help" (eat the sticky buns I was requested to make). I'd prepared everything except the danged turkey breast several days before. SIL2 manned the oven-watch while the rest of us ventured to DD1's house with their dose of sticky buns.
Some kids were still utilizing the cardboard box.
Their next-door neighbors are in their bubble. Both families have three kids of like ages and they practically live in each other's houses. That's really nice. My daughter woke one day to find one of the neighbor's kids standing at her bedside. "What can I have to eat?" he queried. "Go home." she replied.
That kind of close!
They were going to have a shared feast sort of outdoors. A cultural exchange of American classics and Korean BBQ. I wish I could have stayed there for something different!
We had a nice masked visit in the back yard the g-kids and some other-grand dog time as well. It was the first time I'd seen Winnie off leash. She's part whippet or greyhound and I've never seen a dog run so fast and for the shear joy of running!
Back home dinner was consumed, cleaned up and a good time was had by all.
I hope you all had a good day too!
