The Disconnect

I was reading how important it is to get a good night's sleep. Some nights I am more successful than other nights. One of the things that I've decided to do may sounds a little crazy but I've decided to shut my phone off early in the evening. For many of us we get so connected to our device that we miss out on a lot of things including sleep. It's the reverse of what we think. Some of us think if we turn off our device that we might miss out on something but really whatever that is, it will probably still be there in the morning. Instead of our checking our device maybe we could pick up a good book or phone a friend or just take some time for yourself. The options are endless.
How is all of this related to a better night's sleep? I think when we turn the device off it clears our mind and calms us down so that when we go to bed our mind isn't filled with stuff that keeps us up at night. At least that is what I'm experimenting with this week.
The other benefit of this is finding time for other things and discovering what feeds your soul, what helps to make you feel rested.
I entitled this "The Disconnect". That can mean a lot of different things to different people but what makes you feel disconnected? Maybe there is something in our lives that we need to disconnect in order to go forward. One step at a time, we go forward!
