Stress is lifted

My husband had heart surgery yesterday. I have been so stressed. I am a stress eater that has been working all year on not eating during stressful situations. To go for a walk, drink a glass of water. Call a friend. They all seem like easy things to do but I have been a cookie will make it better kind of girl.
Yesterday I dropped him off to the hospital at 5:45 am. By the time I returned home it was 7am
I watched a movie. Played with my granddaughter that came by to visit. I made a healthy lunch. I went for a walk. 1 pm finally the doctor called. He was out of surgery and surgery was successful. Thank God! Both of my girls and their children came by with their families. My daughter led a yoga class for me and my friend. It felt so good to stretch where I was so tense from stress.
Look at that I did not eat my way through the day. A walk, yoga, chatted with a friend. No food to deal with stress, just food as fuel.
I picked my husband up today. Best Christmas gift is having him home.
