Another day

Tuesday, January 05, 2021

Yesterday it was 36F and dark and damp, and today it was 36F and dark and damp, and tomorrow it’s supposed to be 36F and dark and damp... are we noticing a trend here? I suppose I should be grateful that it’s not snowing right now, and there’s no appreciable chance of snow (or rain) in the 7 day forecast. I guess I am just hoping for a tiny glimpse of sunshine. I don’t need clear, blue skies... just a break in the clouds would be good. I am not going to hold my breath! I called and made the appointment with physical therapy today. They are fitting me in on Thursday afternoon at 2:30. I have to go 15 minutes early to do insurance paperwork. Since I will be there for an hour and a quarter dad has decided to do the grocery shopping while I am in the appointment. I still have not been able to convince dad to shop online and do curbside pickup or delivery of groceries. He insists on going so he can pick out the good sales, and get clearance and discount items. I think that if our county continues to see the uptick in cases it has been seeing since Christmas that I might be able to persuade him, but there would have to be quite a surge! Wherever you are in the world I hope you have a marvelous day!

We've been in the clouds and raw, cold for the past few days. Tomorrow they say maybe a bit of sun. Today was neat in that it was snow showers most of the day, but it did not of course add up. We also have no real snow or rain coming. We have been in a drought since the spring, and in the fall it was a severe one, now I think it's a #2. SO STRANGE!! The both of us SHOULD have snow up to our eyeballs! The weather lady just said on the news are a little bit ABOVE Average for snow, I think she's CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY!!

WOOHOO on getting the PT in so quickly!! YEAH YEAH YEAH!!

So many older ones want the sales (most are financially stable in this area. It doesn't matter they are not wanting to spend a penny they don't "have to") so MANY of them still shop on their own. The other night I had a lady in line who HAD to be near 90 and she was all shaky. Be GUARANTEED I put her few items in a number of bags often 1 item in a bag, her 3 bags of cold stuff up in the front of the cart so she could take in only those if she was struggling. Oh my oh my. Some days you just want to help these precious ones right into their homes, set them down with a cup of tea before leaving.

I wish I could talk to him! I did not think I would like Curb Side..but found that OH it is great! if you log into the store ..you can see the sales and they list the stuff you buy so that a partial shopping list comes round with your next visit..kinda nice. And yes..the no contact is so important right now!! I hope the new rehab works well for you..so glad you got docs that listened to you!!

Wow, your forecast sounds so much like mine I thought I was reading my own BLOG. I am just waiting to see a glimmer of sunshine so I go outside and bask in it. I thrive on sunshine even if it's just intermittent throughout the day.

They say Saturday will be full sun so that is what I am focusing on for now to keep my spirits up. Until then, I power walk and it makes me feel so much better than I do when I wake up to dismal skies in the morning.

Hoping your days becoming sunnier soon.

    Hugs

Long time ago, I started to suffer from anxiety and depression when hard winter hit, with those endless days of no sunshine.

When I was working my boss (I worked in a doctor's office) gave me a daylight lamp to keep on my desk. Let me tell you it does work. I didn't notice it right away, but as time when on my spirits lifted up and winter didn't seem all that bad.

Now that I am retired, when cleaning out my basement I found that lamp and have been using it as my reading lamp. I feel once again it has helped. Maybe something for you?

I'm pleased to hear that you are able to get into Physio relatively quickly. I hope it resolves your issues just as quickly.

Man, how I wish you guys were able to enjoy the success that NZ has had. Then you wouldn't have to be worrying about getting sick while shopping, etc. I hope and pray that your numbers start to show a significant decrease.

I can't imagine what it would be like living in 36F. I complain if it gets down to 60F LOL!
