My Birthday Gift To Myself
Saturday, January 23, 2021
Today is my birthday and I have officially crossed over the "halfway point" to 60 years old. Normally, my husband and I would go out to dinner - never somewhere fancy, because that's
just not my style - then afterward meet a friend at our favorite dive bar for drinks.
However, we are able to order takeout (from my favorite restaurant/brewery), so I think my celebration will focus on the fact that I DON"T HAVE TO COOK DINNER TONIGHT!!! This is a real treat because in the almost 11 months we have been COVID shutdown, we have ordered takeout only four times. This means that the other eleventy zillion days and nights *I* was the head chef. Don't get me wrong. I love to cook. But everyone has a saturation point, right?
I am going to order what I want and enjoy it. Every.Single. Bite. Even if I go over my daily calorie goal. I made sure to walk and work out today. I will be going on a nice long hike and working out tomorrow, so I will be back on track. But today, my gift to myself is to not worry about weighing my body or my food. As I always say, Moderation is key!
