February 26, 2021 BEAUTIFUL GROWTH
After we plant seeds, we get to experience the growth of what we have planted. We can watch the growth of the buds and see the fruits of our labor. It is beauty to behold that we can certainly be a part of. We begin with dirt and a seed. We end up with a beautiful creation. Just as the growth of plants is beautiful, so is the physical growth of our bodies as we watch our children grow from babies to adults. We experience their first words and steps. We see them learn and become independent. We teach them to drive and how to live life. It is a beautiful process!
In our spiritual lives, we can experience beautiful growth when we stay plugged into the word of God. We need God’s word for growth in our lives. We can grow in love, mercy and grace. We can observe how we have grown from mere babies in Christ to fully mature believers. God wants us to focus on Him and love Him with all we have so He can help us to fully grow into strong followers of Christ. God loves to watch His children grow in Him. It is beautiful growth to prepare us for eternity.
1 Peter 2:2-3 “Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” (NLT)
1. Write what you currently do for spiritual growth.
2. List ways you can track and measure this growth.
3. Remember God’s word and His Holy Spirit can help you grow.
4. Thank God for the beautiful growth He has planned for you.
Dear Lord, we know we need spiritual growth. We need to continuously stay plugged into Your word and seek ways to grow spiritually every day. This world is full of distractions, sin and temptations. Help us to seek spiritual growth as a priority in our lives. Show us Your way, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Job 17:9 “The righteous keep moving forward, and those with clean hands become stronger and stronger.” (NLT)
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 “And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (NLT)
Philippians 1:6 “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (NLT)
Romans 12:2 “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” (NLT)
Hebrews 6:1a “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.” (NLT)
John 15:2 “He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more” (NLT)
