March 1, 2021 A GREAT RESCUE
We all love a great rescue story. It may be one that is fiction, or it could be a real-life rescue on the news. Either way, seeing others being rescued who have been lost or who are hurt gives us hope. We may not need physical rescue in our lives, but we could need mental or emotional rescue. That is harder for others to detect so we need to be sure we are seeking the right help to be rescued from our, at times, dangerous thoughts or overwhelming feelings.
One rescue we all need is spiritual rescue. Without being rescued by Jesus, we will remain lost. We will remain burdened. We will remain destined to live in a world of sin with no peace. Being rescued from God will give us peace of mind and a healthy spirit. We can all experience a great rescue in life when we repent of our sins, turn our lives over to Jesus and trust in Him.
Psalm 31:5 “I entrust my spirit into your hand. Rescue me, Lord, for you are a faithful God.” (NLT)
1. Write about how God rescue all believers.
2. List what God’s promises are when you have faith.
3. Know God wants to rescue you from spiritual darkness.
4. Trust in Him and turn to Him in all things.
Dear Lord, we are so grateful of Your plan to rescue those who believe and trust in You. Thank You for Your many promises for the faithful. We are so blessed You chose Your Son to live, die and to rise again so we may be saved. Help us to show gratitude to You and honor You as we should. Remind us daily to share Your message of salvation with others. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Galatians 3:14 “Through Christ Jesus, God has blessed the Gentiles with the same blessing he promised to Abraham, so that we who are believers might receive the promised Holy Spirit through faith.” (NLT)
Psalm 91:14 “The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.” (NLT)
Roman 10:9 “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (NLT)
1 John 1:6 “So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.” (NLT)
Acts 16:31 “They replied, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.’” (NLT)
Psalm 22:4 “Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them.” (NLT)
