To QUALIFY for the US Air Force you must:
Be between the ages of 17-27
Be a high school graduate
Have parental consent if age 17
Be of good health and moral character
Meet our height and weight requirements, reference link below:
Be a US citizen or have valid unrestricted alien registration card from the USCIS with at least 2 years remaining until expiration (You must obtain this status on your own, the Air Force cannot assist you with obtaining it)

for me a person 5'10" i must weigh between 132 minimum and 191 max. to be able to join.

I thought boot camp was supposed to make you lose weight but i guess not. ugh! however i should weigh 185lbs. by early january if i stick to the plan.

USAF seems like a great choice for me now, but we will see when i lose the weight were i stand with this issue.

PLEASE feel free to let me know your experiences with the air force and how boot camp went for you. :)

The benefits rock, the pay is not so great but other than that. i can not see why i shouldnt join. I am really confused about this.
any input is appreciated! :)

I worked out 90 minutes a day and got up during every commercial break and did sit ups and pushups for 2 months before I went to basic.
And in basic I lost the 4 pack I had started to develop and gained a pound.

Once you get out of tech school and get your CDC's finished, take college classes for what you want to do when you get out.
I can't stress this enough, get a degree. Whatever you have to do to accomplish this, do it. The Air Force is not the promise of a career and a retirement check that it used to be. They are constantly down sizing so you never know when you can find yourself out because the career field is downsized or because the Air Force itself is downsizing. Get the college in.

First off the AIr Force was my choice back when I was considering doing this and before I decided not to go to Medical School - something I still kick myself over. My Dad was in the USAF and I have friends who served in this branch too. My BIL is in the USMC and holy crap does he say their PT and basic was/is hard! As a woman I think that the USAF is the best way to go but make sure that you can do it and that you want to do it! :) I hope that makes sense! Best of luck to you :)
