Getting Back on Track

So, I had a dismal holiday season. Well actually, it was fun, but as far as healthy eating goes, that part wasn't great at all. And forget about my cardio workouts -- those went totally out of the window. In fact, I stopped even wearing my bodybugg about halfway into December! I wasn't logging my food, so what was the use?

Using my home scale as a gauge, I went from 148.25 on October 19, 2007, to about 152 by the beginning of December, then all the way up to almost 160 by January 2nd! Yikes. I knew I needed to get things back under control.

So I signed up for "The Biggest Loser Contest" in my office. On the initial weigh-in day, January 2, I weighed in at 160.4 (I assume it was higher than my home scale because of: a) the difference in scales; b) I was wearing clothes; and c) I had already eaten breakfast, whereas home weigh-ins are first thing after getting up). Today was the second contest weigh-in, and I weighed in at 154.6 down 5.8 pounds from my initial weigh-in two weeks ago. Yay!

I won't change my ticker, though, until my personal "official" weigh-in on my home scale this Friday. I like to keep the source of my "SP weight" consistent.

Now if I can only motivate myself to do more cardio. I only did it twice last week, and I need to ramp it up so that I won't embarrass myself at the Huntington Beach 5K on February 3rd.

    Enjoy te 5K in Feb., I'm sure you'll be ready since you've restarted your cardio.

    I'm way late, but YAY YOU! 5.8 pounds you GO! And you most DEF have to give us an update after that 5K! I'm excited to hear all about it! I'm sure you will be burning up the pavement!

    I just wanted to say that you have encouraged me sooo much these past months that I want you to know I am here with you doing it too. The weight is going to fall off!!! You are going to ROCK the 5K!!!

    Hey Kristel! Congrats on the 5.8 pound loss! Wow! That is great! We know it's never that we can't, we just don't sometimes for any number of reasons. I think a lot of us lost focus throughout the last half of 2007. However, acknowledging and owning our own contirbution to the delays in reaching our goals is the first step in getting rid of the hinderances/excuses and move on. You are well on your way! And you're still a queen regardless! Go on Your Highness!

    Kristel, isn't it funny how as soon as you get back on track you drop pounds right away. I've come to learn that the only way for me to conquer this weight thing is to exercise. Girl get that cardio in and those pounds will melt right on away. Congrats on the lost thus far :)

    Congrats!! 5.8 lbs. That's great!! I knew you could do it. I'm sure you'll also be pleasantly surprised when you weighin on your home scale Friday.
