Salad + Bacon = Not so good

Did you know that bacon is one of the worst things you can put in your body while you're trying to lose weight? I say this tongue in cheek, because I do know better, but I thought a little isn't going to hurt. Boy, was I wrong.

I ordered the Kaanapali Kobb from Islands the other night (it was really good) and when I weighed myself in the morning I was shocked to see the difference from the day before.

I went on line and looked up the nutritional info regarding the salad and I was literally floored to see how many calories(and other bad things for you) were in it. One serving is a whole days worth of calories (on the high end).

Beware of the salad with bacon, cheese and dressing mixed in. Good thing I didn't finish it.

    Yes, just because it says "SALAD" in the title, dosn't mean it is healthy, beware of these items that come across as healthy. Like Deanna says, some burgers have less calories if they are not laiden with high fat dressings. Most times it is the dressings/sauces that have all the hidden fat and calories.

    Good to know! I'm always cautious of salads in general - especially since I found out that most of McDonald's salads actually have more calories and fat than hamburgers do!
