Over a Month Now

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Well its just been a few days over a month and I am still checking in and doing the right things. Well most of the time anyway. It feels good to be active again. I have been telling anyone who will listen about SP. I LOVE this site. I am a little nervous about my weigh in tomorrow but I keep reminding myself its not just about the pounds. I think I will measure again tomorrow and see if I lost any more inches.

I think I am going to attempt to switch up my workouts a bit. I am getting a little burned out on the pool Which really stinks. Its what I am good at.

Here's to many more months!

You keep going Girl! You are doing great! I know what you mean about switching it up tho, I think I'm going to hang the punching bag. I am wearing down a little on the dancing- I like it, but I think I need to switch it up a bit.

I can't believe you can wait until the correct day to weigh in! That to me is willpower! If I could fit a scale in my purse I'd probably carry it with me everywhere "Oooh! I just turned down a donut! How much did I lose?" "Oooh, I walked 10 extra steps! How much now?"

Congrats on your good choices, and hang in there!

    Hi Em-
yes, measure yourself for sure. Last week I didn't lose pounds but I lost 1/2 inch on my waist, which to me was better than a pound or two because it had a more direct relationship to clothes, so do that for sure!

Work out burn out - ugh. Can you mix it up for yourself and do something totally different in the pool so it's not boring? As far as wanting to do it because you're good at it- well, to that, my friend, I say then learn to be good at something else! You weren't born knowing how to swim. You might have taken a liking to it as a kid and showed enthusiasm, which made everyone around you who loved you encourage you to pursue it, but you probably also have the potential to be really good at something else, so don't be shy about stepping out of the old comfort zone, if that's the main thing keeping you in the pool. Maybe the burn out is a good thing - it's your spirit saying, "Hey! I want to do something else!" Just a thought. Try journaling about other activities that you think you'd like to be good at in another life. Then try one, because your new life is starting now! (I know, I'm really hokey and cheesy!)

    Have a great day!
