Things that work for me

I have been doing SP for almost a month now and the things I found that are working for me are...
I have not bought "diet food". I have been trying to buy fresh foods for the last couple of years, so it hasn't been a shock to my system to eat good. I have just learned how to make it work for me. I was one of those people that said "I don't eat a lot, so I don't know why I'm fat" After starting SP and using the calorie counter I was amazed that I didn't weigh 500 pounds! I ate fast food everyday for lunch..I always ate multiple servings (like a whole can of soup or 3 packs of instant oatmeal) If I do happen to buy something "diet" ..for example, I bought a couple bags of mini rice cakes (the sour cream & onion are yummy) I would eat the whole bag in no time. They are not bad for me...well 5 servings later, they are now bad for me.. :) I tend to do that with "diet" food. I don't limit myself as I should. Plus most "diet' Food is a scam. If it is low in fat, it is higher in carbs..etc.
I never ate breakfast. I can tell such a big difference just by eating breakfast! Even now, if I skip breakfast one day..I am hungry all day long. I want to snack, and eat a meal early. I have heard it for years.."people who eat breakfast are thinner" "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" It is SO true. I am always running late in the mornings, So I like to fry an egg and fold it in a piece of toast, or english muffin. It is quick and easy and high in protein.
I started stocking the cupboard at my work. I have a basket of fruit there. I have bottles of water, salad dressing, cottage cheese, and a couple cups of yogurt. I take a salad to work everyday and whatever leftover I have to take. If I don't have leftovers, I have a turkey sandwich with my salad.
On my days off, I try to get in a super good workout. I usually don't get home until after 7pm, so by the time I start dinner and pick up the house, I don't feel like working out..If I have something for dinner that needs to go in the over for 45 minutes or so, I am more likely to do a workout. (I need to find more meals like that)
I feel 100% better already and I have only lost 13 pounds so far. I can't belive how much better I sleep and how much LESS sleep I need. I don't "CRASH" in the afternoon anymore. I used to crawl home at 7pm, cook a quick dinner, and fall into bed and be asleep by 9pm.
Just wait until I lose 50 pounds. I may be bouncing off the walls!
