It's not that hard to live that well

My friend's band has a song called "it isn't easy to live that well." I was just thinking, it's not that hard to eat that well. I know it's taken almost a year, but it's now really easy to incorporate enough fiber into my diet. I had to do a fiber challenge with my friend, but after that it is almost like not even thinking about it. I did a 5 fruits and veggies a day challenge with myself, and now I get 7-8 fruits and veggies in. It's really important to recognize how these things make you feel. You could eat a 100 calorie snack like a cookie, but eating 100 calories worth of grapes will make you feel good and keep you fuller longer. A year ago I never would have thought that I would want a cup of broccoli for a snack. Now I don't even want the cheesy broccoli for a snack because it doesn't fill me up as much as just plain broccoli! This is madness, madness.
I'm looking forward to a healthy weekend and staying on my weight-loss track. I want to lose 10 pounds in the next 5 weeks, before I go to Austin, so I'm really going to be focused for the next month.
Last night I went out to dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant. Surprisingly, it's not that bad for you. You grill your own meat and wrap it in lettuce. I split the ice cream with friends at the end, and the sides were all veggies. Unfortunately, I had two cookies and a piece of pizza when I came home. WTF?! It was 11 pm, I should have just gone to bed! Sigh. Still have a ways to go, I guess.
I'm making up for it today by having veggies all day, vegetable soup for lunch, and I think eggs for dinner.
Happy Friday!
