There is snow on the grass that was just turning green. It started as rain, just after the mail was delivered. No books today, so the rain didn't damage anything. I think our mail delivery may be evening out. It arrived at the same time each day so far this week. With the clock shift, it isn't getti... Read more

So far, the shelter in place hasn't changed what I do all day. I paid bills and the mail carrier took them away. The next time I go to get groceries, I will need to get some stamps too. I'm doing a deep cleaning of my pantry. I have some things that managed to get pushed to the back. I will be evalu... Read more

The Governor has put our state on mandatory shelter in place starting Thursday morning. Everything will be reevaluated after the second week of April. Just about every place I want to go is closed. The library is closed. The community center is closed. The recreation center is closed. Only the groce... Read more

I think my neighbors are planning an escape. They have their camper hooked to one of their cars. They have their boat hooked up to the Jeep. Of course, they could just be cleaning their carport. If I had a camper and a place to take it, I'd be tempted to make an escape myself.... Read more

Kaine, my cat, is willing to sit beside me on the sofa if I don't try to pet him. He is such a picky cat. He is not the cat in my profile picture. I got the picture of the cat in the shark suit off the internet. Of all the cats I had, including Kaine, my current cat, none of them would have let me d... Read more

Sunday and I did my Sunday chores. Brought in the mail, three days worth. It's not that I didn't go out and bring in the mail. It wasn't delivered Thursday or Friday. There are a couple of different things hitting at once. One is this COVID19. The other is a little longer in coming. The local post o... Read more

I'm starting to feel a little cabin fever, what with this stay in place. I don't know why. I can stay home for weeks if I want to. I think what it is, is that it isn't my idea. I never have been very good at following directions or taking orders. Plus, I found I am running out of cat litter, so I th... Read more

I have found the best way to get me to do the things I don't want to do is to complain about not wanting to do whatever while I'm doing it. I know it sounds crazy, but it works for me. There seems to be a slight increase in the things I don't want to do right now. I think I need to readjust my work ... Read more

Spent the day watching the snow flying around, wrapped up in my warm clothes with my hot chocolate. It was just that sort of day. In honor of the first day of spring, the snow was very wet. I fully expect it will be gone from the streets tomorrow and just a memory by Sunday. This sheltering in place... Read more

It was a lovely day. I popped outside many times, transferring things from inside to my recycling can. This is what can happen when I start cleaning. The garbage bag is half filled. Recycling doesn't want us to bag things, so it's easier to toss that sort of thing. The snow we are to have tomorrow i... Read more

In two days, Spring will be here, with a snow storm. However, tomorrow will be warm and I will be outside. I believe I will spend some time in my mansion in Egypt. This virus and all the bad news coming with it makes me want to dive into denial for a spell. Maybe when I return, things will have stab... Read more

Things are being closed faster than I can keep up with. Pretty soon only home will be "open". Even governmental offices are closing. Not that I really wanted to go anywhere, but soon there will be nowhere to go. We will have to stay home. I suppose it could be worse. St Patrick's Day and no pipers p... Read more

Book club is cancelled tomorrow, so I will have to find something else to do. I am in involuntary quarantine. It's better than the assisted living place my parents are in. The library closed, so we did not have our book group meeting. Maybe next month. I am not pleased. Even more than that, I bet next month things will still be closed. I do not want to be correct on this, but my basic reading of the situation says it won't be business as usual in a months time. Is thi... Read more

This virus is very inconvenient. It has us cancelling everything. I know, that makes me sound selfish. My book clubs are cancelled for this month. I think that they will be cancelled next month too. By the time we get to meeting again, I'll have forgotten the book. I don't get out that much, so I mi... Read more

The weather people on the TV are trying to scare us with snow, while telling us the high will be 40 degrees. It doesn't snow here at that temperature. Not that I am worried. Ran my monthly errands today. It was such a nice day. I did a little shopping. I had picked up a lovely plush fitted sheet and a matching top sheet/blanket. It rained last night. Not the gentle rain that one can sleep to but noisy, stormy rain. It is a little early in the year for rain here, but this is what we get when we mess with the weather/climate. I am still behind on my work list. I think it will get worse before it gets better.... So I went out today, driving among all the folk on their motorcycles. It was very nice. We are going to have a week of this warm weather. There will be rain instead of snow. Another beautiful day. So nice, so warm for Colorado in March. I know we're going to pay for this nearly 70 degree day later this spring, but I can wait for it. I got a refill on my arthritis medicine today. I've been out for about 2 weeks. No wonder my knees hurt. It took me a bit to get it back on my prescription list. Somehow it was deleted. Getting back on schedule just in time for the most massive schedule wrecker to come along: Daylight Moving Time. Yes, it's time to pretend that we can actually take an hour from the morning and move it to the evening. If only there was a little honesty about DST. It is just manipulating the clock. I... This evening's snow should be gone and melted by noon tomorrow. That's the way I like it. Then we should have a week of warming. The snow in my front yard should be melted by the weekend.
