I definitely think its a personal preference. When i first began I would weigh myself weekly, but that was not enough for me. I am a numbers person and I found weighing myself daily helped.
I understood that my numbers would fluctuate up to five pounds on a daily basis, but I needed the numbers. However, I only tracked my weight weekly. This gave me a line that I could follow to see the overall effects of my efforts.
I also spent some time trying to only weight myself monthly when I was close to goal weight because I knew that I would be building muscle faster than losing weight.
I am currently weighing myself daily because I am working on crunching a few numbers.
