Okay, the mystery is solved. I only have difficulty maneuvering this site on my iPhone. I don’t have it on my desktop. I tried downloading the app, but that’s the same problem. It’s funny how I don’t have a problem finding my 6WBMO journal.

Yesterday’s dinner was okay. DH effed up the shrubby cooking them way too long on the grill. I drank a lot of Malbec and felt guilty afterward. I’m not so strong as I sometimes portray myself to be. Actually, I think I cave way too quickly.

Moving on, that’s now in the past. I do 100% 99% of the time and that includes Saturday and Sunday, so a blip or a cog means absolutely sh75y.

Moving on.

I’m getting a little pissed with this site because one day I can find my group and the next day I can’t. I don’t know what’s going on, but years ago, I’d be able to find everything! This truly sucks.

Today, DH took my waist measurement and I’ve lost an inch (that’s considering his previous measurement was accurate). I’ll post my progress and I go soon, as soon as I create a spread sheet/listing with starting weight/inches / current weight/inches in a list.

This morning’s breakfast was excellent! Even if I say so myself. I used liquid egg whites, butter dough vanilla emulsion, Saigon Cinnamon, and EZ Sweetz sweetener, and my low carb bread from Deidre on youtube. It was fantastic French toast, served with grilled bratwurst. Yep, I already know that Michael Thurmond would not approve of the sausage, but let’s face it, eating oil-free, boiled meat is NOT enjoyable. If I can meet the program 98%, then I’m home free. Some foods require a pinch of salt and oil. You cannot “roast” potatoes without some sort of a fat coating. You won’t achieve the Mallard (browning) effect and what you’ll end up with is dry, dehydrated spuds that are begging for you to put them out of their mystery by any means necessary because, in addition to the lack of fat, there’s no salt. Fuggitaboutit!

I’m going back upstairs to work on my inner thighs and abs. Each workout is 20 minutes each on youtube and the woman’s body is insane! If I can achieve HALF of what she has, I’m golden. Okay, that sounds half-azzed and I know I should be going for the whole Shabang. Maybe I will and maybe I won’t. Stay tuned.

I don’t see an edit button, so I have to post again. Actually, this would be my second week, but I celebrated a 3-day visit from my SIL & her DH. Me and her walked every day for an hour, but I drank wine. I strayed a bit from my meals... okay, a lot, but that was two weeks ago and I have my work outs, prepared meals, and I’m good to go!

Woohoo!!! I’m 4 lbs down my first week! I have a log at home to log in my weekly weigh-ins, but I’m starting on here, as well.

Here’s to next Monday’s weigh-in. Today’s workout after work is arms. My routine is differ from what I’ve done in the past to get in shape. This routine is one body part a day, and I walk most of the day at work, so that’s cardio.

Stay tuned.

Tomorrow is my first weigh-in and I'm a little nervous only because all the time I was on Keto, I didn't lose any weight and I was on that for years. I would fast, limit food, etc. I don't know, it wasn't the program for me or I did it so wrong that it just didn't work. I felt like I was just bidding my time.

Anyway, I'm going down to make some Chinese Food. I'm making Fried brown rice, mixed vegetable stir-"fry" and DH is grilling seafood. I also bought some sliced portabella mushrooms to go on top.

Okay, going to get me a big glass of water with lemonade water enhancer.

I’m a body type B and DH made me the best turkey patty for breakfasts. I eat them with a small container of apple sauce and drink my black coffee. After coffee’s gone (only one cup), I drink water for the rest of the day. Feels good to drink cool water all day.

DH has joined me and it really feels good to have his support. Besides, he really loves my food. Tonight we’re have spaghetti and meatballs. Everything goes into it, except the salt and oil. My noodles are Shirataki, which means we can eat without weighing or measuring. The only thing that gets weighed is our meatballs. He gets 4 oz. and I get 2 or 3 oz. I can load up the sauce with fillers such as mushrooms, onions, peppers, garlic and herbs. I’ll bring it for lunch the following day.

I’ve put my wine consumption on hold for now. I recall drinking while still losing weight back in 2007, but I was a lot younger then, too. I was in my 40’s; I’m in my 60s now, so my metabolism may be on slow crawl or simply not as fast.

I just want to rid myself of this excess weight, so stay tuned.

I haven’t been here, on Spark People, for some time now, but since I gave up on the keto diet and can post about my new/old eating plan, I’m glad I came back. Tonight’s dinner was really delicious and I’m having it for lunch tomorrow. I love this dish from one of our favorite Chinese restaurants: Green Onion & Ginger Fish & Chicken. It was baked for 10 minutes on a sheet pan. I covered it with Saran Wrap and covered the wrap with aluminum foil. This steams the chicken and fish gently. DH also made turkey burgers for meals during the week and I also made a large pot of Wor Wonton Soup with Shirataki Noodles sitting in for wontons and chicken and shrimp took the place of the pork. The soup was authentic. I mean everything was great.

Here’s an interesting spin on coleslaw: I poured it in a microwavable container and added garlic and onion powder and a tablespoon of soy sauce, sesame oil, and a tablespoon of water and nuked it for 2.5 minutes. Talk about good! It was damned good!

My breakfasts are usually 2 boiled egg whites with black pepper and a small container of unsweetened applesauce. Two hours later, I’ll have a mid-morning snack of mixed berries and a couple of turkey meatballs or a piece of chicken (2 oz.) or egg whites again. I drink almost a gallon of water a day. I have mixed berries or sugar free jello as an after dinner snack.

Today, I started my workout. I was so unmotivated that I grabbed my ankle weights and weighted gloves and worked out to Jeopardy. I worked out with a little more effort during commercials. I want to work out regularly and this was a lazy-Lima bean approach, but it got me motivated. I’ll try again tomorrow. Who knows, maybe I’ll go back to doing my new Taebo workouts, Pilates, The Bar Method, and who know what?

Stay tuned.

Today I start week 2 of 6WBMO and I must say, I’ve come a long way. I love good food and my cooking skills were always on par with the GGM, DM, and GM and every chef you can think, let alone, I’ve been cooking for over 40 years and even when to culinary school a few years ago, but the commercial kitchen is a jungle. Every man for himself! Hard, hard work and low, low, low pay, so I went back into the corporate world, where spent a good 30 years and since I’ve been back, I’m happy to say, I can pay my bills without asking DH for help.

I may have said farewell to the commercial kitchen, but what I’ve accumulated over the years, and the culinary training has made me a beast in the kitchen and I tinker with Michael Thurmond’s recipes. They ARE very boring, but I know how to kick them up a notch, which makes them very tasty. One treat I loved back in 2005 was the oatmeal muffins. These were made with oatmeal, whipped egg whites, vanilla, cinnamon, and apple sauce for moistness. I recall them being good and I would have them as a breakfast or afternoon snack. Just one because it made up for your serving of fruit and a carb. I tried my hand at them Saturday morning and noticed they didn’t have that light texture I remembered, but the taste was better. After some thought today, it dawned on me that I it required grinding in the food processor to make a “flour”. I just put the whole oats in the muffin pans and wondered why they tasted dense and clunky. They’re still effen good though.

I’ll redo this weekend.

Hello there! I want to revive this topic as I’ve made the rounds of diet protocols and have either maintained the same weight, which was still not quite “there” yet for over 4 years and after one morning last week while getting ready for work, I stopped to admire this beautiful cashmere blouse that would have been perfect with the pair of slacks that day. Unfortunately, when I turned to look at my profile and back view, I was disappointed with the “rolls” small as they may have been, they were still calling attention to how “chunky” I looked and at that point, I got mad at myself for abandoning the 6WBMO program in the first place and started hunting through my computer for my electronic cookbook I purchased a few years ago.

At first, I thought Keto was the answer, admiring the success stories of all of the wonderfully success people have found and jumped on the that bandwagon. Keto works. Period. It works. However, it doesn’t work for me. And calculating macros, micronutrients, eat this, not that, fat this, fat that. It did not work for me and I was convinced that I should introduce 5:2 protocol, 6:8 protocol, 16:8 protocol, and finally the 20:4. Protocol, protocol, smotocol! Enough!!! I was still stuck at “not working” and something had to be done and quickly.
Re-enter Michael Thurmond. My Hero (R.I.P.)

In 2005, MIchael Thurmond took me from 189 lbs. to 143 lbs. and while the beginning of the program took adjustments for me, i.e., no salt, fats, wine and/or alcohol, and sugar (gave that up years earlier) and drinking a gallon of water a day, I eventually became used to it and started inventing recipes that were posted on the site. I looked younger and began an exercise regiment. I even met my then boyfriend and now husband. We dated for 7 years and just celebrated our 7th year wedding anniversary for a total of 14 years together. Yeah, dieting DOES work (HA!)

Anyway, I restarted this past Tuesday and haven’t looked back since. So far, I’ve lost 6 lbs. in less than a week. My work is pretty active and I’m rarely at my desk because I have to walk several corridors all day long, but soon enough, I’ll resume my fitness workouts before work every morning. I prefer Pilates, The Bar Method, Callanetics, Zumba, and my favorite Hip Hop Abs, Vols. I & II.

I am 63 years old and have come to the conclusion that I don’t have to look my age if I take care of myself. As a matter of fact, I will never, ever give up on me.

I hope you join me in reaching and learning how to maintain our ideal goals because it IS ATTAINABLE.

LOVE, PEACE & CHICKEN GREASE!
