I am starting again and trying to be positive that this is the last time I "start" and that I learn to eat good foods, in normal portions, and keep it up. I've done this for so many years but always slide and first thing I know I'm not even paying attention to what I am eating. My mind is in a good place so I'm off to a good day. I have already planned breakfast, dinner, and a snack. Just have to be careful at unknown lunch at Quilt Club. I can do this!!

@NITEMAN3D - well "normal" would just be a few more fats, fruits and carbs. She had me eating every three hours which was a good thing because I never got really hungry but it's also very tough to plan so much because you basically have to take your food with you wherever you go. Also only egg whites with no cheese, toast - one piece in the morning dry or oatmeal with NOTHING. I hate fake sugar - and yes even stevia. No high sugar fruits - as in bananas, mango, papaya, pineapple or melon. Greek yogurt with no honey, again no fruits except berries. It took me like 4 months to lose even eating like that and yes it worked but I can't eat like that forever. I need a little something on my toast even if it's just a tiny bit of butter and I'm not a big yogurt person although I'm trying. I need to find out what works for ME otherwise like you said it will just be another "diet" Right now I'm trying to figure that out.

I eat two meals daily spaced five to seven hours apart and I don't snack. It's the SparkPeople method on a schedule. Most of my tracking is complete before days end so that I can shave or add to fit my allowance total for the day.

good luck.....

do you track your food as its consumed..... end of day..... or prior....

really trying to make this a habit.... so what has worked best for those that successfully have tracked intake

that's great.... what diet/lifestyle choice did you choose.... that enabled you to lose and keep off the weight?

@MIAMOKI ... You touch on an important point when you say you went back to "normal" eating. That is the change we all have to make. We must change our concept of normal. Eating too much of the wrong things can't be called normal because it results in obesity left unchecked. A whole new (and permanent) outlook is required. When I started here many years ago I had great success and lost over a hundred pounds... then fell back into "normal" eating patterns which resulted in regaining much of what I had lost and endangering my health and wellbeing. Now I'm engaged in a long term plan of losses mingled with periods of maintenance. It has been serving me well for nearly six years now. Most of my health conditions are greatly improved or gone completely. I'm also happy to tell you that my lack of enthusiasm for conventional exercise was overcome with a short resistance session daily involving bodyweight, resistance bands, and light weights for strength and walking (both indoor and outdoor) with higher intensity intervals for cardio. It's working quite well and although my insurance provides me with a free gym membership, I no longer feel the need since what I'm doing works. i haven't tracked perfectly all week.... but getting better for sure.... so glad I'm not the only one who struggles …. heres to a great weekend!

Me too! A couple years ago I lost 12 pounds with a nutritionist but as soon as I started eating normal again I gained it all back. I need to do something reasonable and get my butt back to working out. I had a tough year - my fitness instructor that I had been with for 10 years retired and I am completely lost. I am going to the gym but the classes BORE me to tears. There are only two classes I like and I'm making sure I go to those but this has been awful and I feel like a blob. So I'm going for a long walk tomorrow and going to enjoy this beautiful weather we have been having! No more excuses!!

yes at it again...…. this time I hope it sticks....

going to try to be vigilant about tracking food... I seem to be ok up until late afternoon.... then not so much....

so going to track and also get back to the gym and walking...

suggestions for success this time..... very welcome
