"I’m so annoyed by it all....I’ve been working out 4 times a week, eating the right foods about 95% of the time and weighing and measomy foods and this morning when I weighed myself the scale says that I gained 7 pounds"

Do you weigh and measure everything?
Do you stay WITHIN you calorie range?

Seven pounds can be the result of many things, even too much sodium.

Being an emotional eater, I've rediscovered foods that are not good for me. Some of it is stress over the economy & politics, some the fact that I lost a family member (not from COVID) yesterday.

The last couple months I keep sliding up and down on the scale between 250 and 240...my small goal is to get down to 235. When I stick with healthy foods and my workouts I feel a lot better, so I am focusing on that - and not giving up on myself!

The scale isn't budging emoticon but I'm feeling better about my "action goals" noting the things I can do to promote movement toward a healthy weight.

Still trying to focus on non-scale victories (good sleep, high energy, positive mood) that are all a reflection of my health & well-being, even if weight does not change!

Hope your week-end goes well!

Today I cleared out an area near my bedroom and created an exercise niche -- just shelves really, that had collected nonsense & debris -- but now, all my yoga gear, stretch-bands, hand-weights, jump rope and massage tools (ball, roller & therapy-cane) are all in one place!!

Near-by, I have a Malibu Pilates Chair (a contraption that let's me do some Pilates moves with a bit of resistance) so -- NO MORE EXCUSES that I cannot exercise at home. I'm going to start with only a 10 minute daily investment until that becomes a habit, and an easy one.

This is all thanks to Teddi, the young, energetic organizer who comes to my house and helps me be ruthless about my clutter. She has a great eye for using space creatively and up-cycling common things she spots in my house! Love it!

You're doing better than I am. I have been a bit under the weather & have not been exercising. Keep pushing! You can win!

Current strategies:
1. Staying within my calorie count most days.
2. Getting all my water in over the course of my day.
3. Trying to get more fruit and vegetables into my meals.
4. Adding indoor exercise now that the humidity is getting unbearable.

Thankfully the scale is slowly slipping below 160#

I did not lose much this week. Looking back - not much movement, about 3 meals that were heavy carbs. I could be discouraged, but I am determined!

I gained 15 pounds during this quarantine time...which is upsetting after getting down to 235. It had taken me a long time to get under 250 and here I was back there again. I got busy with SparkPeople and determined to get things going back in the right direction. It is working. I'm back down to 240 and feeling better about my progress (although I slip off track once in awhile). I will not give up on myself and I am not going to go back up again. I started at 340 and although I'm thrilled at my weight loss, I'm still too big and I'd like to get down to a more normal weight and size. I won't let this pandemic be something that stops me!

Good to know I'm not alone.
Working on a new goal-setting & tracking plan with daily weigh-ins and three goals each morning (Nutrition/Movement/Other) -- learning to stay honest with myself on a daily basis. Using Spark for food-tracking and working on getting more vegies into my day.

Progress always seems slow, but I just want to see it moving in the desired direction!

I have also gained roughly about 25 pounds by eating crap.....I had lost 100 pounds then gained back 25 and now I'm stuggling to get the 25 pounds off again!! Even though I'd love to blame it all on the virus and being home more, I know that it's because I chose to put everything in my mouth and I chose not to exercise regularly.....It's 100% my own fault. I'm now working on tracking evrything I eat....even if it's only a bite of something. I'm attempting to move more too!! My couch has a permanent imprint of my rear end in it and I need to not get so comfy on the couch all day long!! I'm in to be accountable for myself as well as help others be more accountable!!

I started gaining weight working from home and finally turned it around. I don't exercise outside - there's no safe place to do it, but I am exercising at home. I am also paying a lot more attention to my food. The struggle is real, but I have lost 12 pounds in just over a month and a half.

You've heard of the Freshman Fifteen, they average number of pounds young adults gain when they move out of their parent's home and start life on their own, eating mostly pizza, burgers & french-fries with beer or sugary soda as the standard beverage of choice.

Well, there's apparently a corrolary phenomena with this virus, the COVID 15# -- the average number of pounds we're packing on as we office just two feet from the refirgerator, stop at the gas station for donuts & coffee (just to get out of the house) and order our meals delivered to our door, just because we cannot visit the restaruant as we used to do.

My own struggle is less dramatic, but equally distressing. On my birthday, back in March, I hit a goal, 155# after 90 days of struggling to lose ten pounds. Over the last 4 months, I've regained at least 5 pounds and some weeks, as much as 7 pounds, leaving me today at 161# -- not at all happy about that!

So, I'm looking for some encouragement as I commit the remainder of this year (oh, let's be real and say, the remainder of July) to get serious about eating less junk, getting up off my butt and moving more, and drinking my water every day in an effort to shed what I've gained AND move beyond that to the next goal.

If you're struggling too, maybe we can encourage each other?
Let me know what your goals and strategies are -- maybe we can learn from each other and get this pattern turned around!

Looking for fellow change-agents for the journey ahead!
