On this leap day, yep, a bonus day, I am grateful for:

-StepGeek joining us (hope to see you in March)
-Morning kitty rituals ... we take extra time on the weekends!
-Cleo's good report at the vet on her eye; improvement, so continue eye drops 2x/daily (sigh)
-Keeping the weekend free of scheduled plans to take care of things around the house and yard (chipmunk-proofing high on the list)
-Appointment with potential new pond company this morning
-Perfect, sunny day to take pictures of the ponds to text to another potential new pond company
-Strong recommendation for another movie at our fine arts theatre, possible after the warm, sunny day goes away and turns to night
-Sweet Rosie, lying on her back soaking in the sunbeams, eyes closed, purring so loud I could record her (we can learn from kitties!)

To new beginnings in March, thanks to dear Rebecca
Stephanie

On this rainy Monday morning, I'm grateful for:

-A lovely, needed rain with temps well above freezing, nourishing the ground for the upcoming spring
-Lying in bed, drifting back to sleep while appreciating the light patter of rain on the roof when I awakened in the middle of the night
-A super solid day of exercise yesterday, getting in both cardio (a long walk and talk with a friend) and strength training
-Treating myself to a meaningful indie film yesterday afternoon
-Buying another punch card to our fine arts independent movie theater ($6 per movie, less expensive than senior discount)
-The gift of talking to my nearly 104-year-old adopted aunt last night; always such a joy because she has such an amazing outlook on life and is so grateful, even though she's now blind
-Hearing church bells and the sound of a distant train together

I am grateful that yesterday is gone. I was miserable and wallowing in self pity.

I am grateful that today is a new day, and am determined to make it a better one.

-Locating pertinent files/images easily
-R surprising me with favorite Panera breakfast this morning
-Reminding myself to take one obligation/task at a time on mental 'to do' list allowing me to move forward successfully

This morning I'm grateful for:

-A pretty solid night of sleep, but some weirdness, like waking at midnight thinking it was morning! Ha! I happily fell back to sleep
-The pretty snow, love watching it when I can look out the windows at home
-Having a break in my workload and lots of PTO, so taking what I've named a WWW (winter weather wimp) day
-The sweetest kitties ever, all three of them hanging real tight with me this morning, also obviously happy that I'm home
-Upping my monthly exercise minutes goal, trying to push myself a bit more

-Kitties taking soothing cues from me with the fireworks and doing fine
-Co-worker friend healing from surgery inviting me to go to another yoga class tomorrow after work (we've gone before and like this class)
-A huge compliment from a friend yesterday

On this sort of shockingly chilly morning my appreciations include:
-Spring preview day yesterday seducing me out for 2.5 mile KJ walk with Kiowa
-The group swoosh of dozens of geese taking flight together
-Taking in the vitamin D joy of all that sunshine
-Shopping trip for reaching 'fully stocked' status for days ahead
-Knowing to exit and allow R to handle his game disappointment and let it go on his own, which he did

⦿ strange but welcome email from my uncle who received something from Facebook and thought it came from me
⦿ how extra cozy it feels to sleep on the sofa
⦿ fun on Words with Friends
⦿ yesterday's strength training
⦿ making use of county's free bulk shredding service and clearing out old documents yesterday
⦿ Fear Free Shelter online training almost half completed. I'm learning more than I expected. The shelter where I volunteer gets this training for us for free.

I couldn't add anything more to what you've both said!! I feel those same special things about this special place I share with you two special people. It brings me great joy and emoticon emoticon

Rebecca: emoticon for getting us going in February!

On this first morning of February, I'm so grateful for:

-New beginnings, especially when they begin with sunshine emoticon
-Waking very early, turning on the heating pad and going back to sleep, to be awakened by the sun streaming through my window
-Heading to the indoor organic farmer's market (see what sunshine does!)
-Mary Oliver, an amazing poet whose words resonate always
-Hearing a bird outside while stroking a soft kitty belly lazing in the sunshine emoticon emoticon
-Today will be a day for friendship; first a "salon brunch" at a musician friend's home with many others to celebrate Gertrude Stein's birthday (there will be lots of good music played) then dinner with 4 others not seen in far too long emoticon emoticon
-Continuing my pledge of more live music in 2020
-Tomorrow will be a day just for me; massage (moved up earlier due to Super Bowl) then watching the Super Bowl with the kitty girls in comfort and relaxation emoticon Go Chiefs!!

Happy February!

Rebecca and Stephanie, it means a lot to have you here "in the cloud" sharing your lives with me in this way. This is one of the most personal little corners of the internet in my daily "surf". Thank you, Rebecca, for starting this February thread!

I am grateful this morning for:
• more rich and interesting dreams
• an email from D and date for Facetime chat later this morning
• enjoying "The Outsider" on HBO
• Desi taking a long walk down the sidewalk and back yesterday (on the leash of course)
• continuing my New Year resolution/daily routines of tidying, meditating and reading-something-inspiring almost every day in January and going forward.

BTW, I wrote a blog post about volunteering at the animal shelter. If you would like, check it out!
