The one part of your body that bothers you most is ALWAYS the last one where you see change, just because you're paying such close attention to it. Like they say, a watched pot never boils. (And a watched pot belly never shrinks!) As others have said, just be patient and try to focus on some other aspect of fitness to measure how you're doing.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Will just give it time and see what happens. It will probably be the very last thing that goes away...LOL!!

As the previous posters have said, there's no way to target fat loss to specific areas of the body, but eventually, it should start to come from those areas where you carry excess. Females tend to have extra fat in that area, so your belly might never be totally flat. Just stick with a healthy diet and regular exercise for the best results.

"I'm working my abdomen with my exercises, but do you think I need to target this area more specifically? If so, how? "

Targeting the area works the muscles underneath the fat.
However, you cannot spot reduce fat.
It may shrink as you lose fat overall.

ETA: if it is loose skin, you will require surgery for removal.

Hello All! I have a question. I'm not losing so much weight per se, but I am shrinking with my exercising. I'm a little concerned about what I'm seeing from my abdomen and wonder if there isn't something I need to be doing to help this. The lateral aspects of my abdomen are getting smaller but not so much the middle part. My belly's been big for a long time, and I have a roll that hangs lower. The sides there are getting smaller but the center portion doesn't seem to be shrinking in the same fashion/rate. It's smaller, but when I suck my gut in, there's this blob there. Is there anything to do about this or do you think it will eventually shrink? I'm working my abdomen with my exercises, but do you think I need to target this area more specifically? If so, how? Would appreciate your input! Thanks!
