I would recommend a chain shoe store called Fleet Feet. I have problem feet. They have you stand on something that analyze your entire foot to know what athletic shoe is best for you. They also first ask what activity you do to give you the right shoe for that sport. All they do is sell athletic shoes, no other shoes. I only get my shoes from them and the closest one from me is two hours away.

I'm on Year 4 of REMISSION! {Plantar Fasciitis} emoticon

I was about to go on CRUTCHES when I heard about these shoes!

No Joke.... I made it to Dillard's {some local retailers sell them so you can see/try them in person} and when I put them on and started walking around I had instant relief! My arches/heels finally had the support and comfort that brings relief! I bought them and wore them out of the store! I had tears rolling down my face as I was walking through the mall to exit for reaching my car.

After 1 month in the shoes I was doing sooooo much better!

I only have occasional flare-ups now and I have been off the cortisone shots for 4 years!

I lift light weights in the gym, and walk 1-2 miles along the river 5 days a week. My Skechers are fine for this type of exercise. They have memory foam soles, which make me feel like I am walking on clouds..

If you run, you need running shoes. If I played basketball, I would get high tops to support my ankles. The show depends on the exercise.

"Good shoes for exercising?"
The ones that fit your foot the best and are designed for whatever exercise you are doing.
There are different shoes for different activities, and everyone walks/rolls their foot differently. What is perfect for me may be the worst for you!

I suggest looking at Reebok training shoes (they have many different offers for different types of activity). I am sure you will be able to pick something for you.

I have been using their CrossFit training shoes for more than a year. The quality is perfect, they are very comfortable, but the price is high.

I guess it depends on what you planning on doing for exercise. If you run or walk, I would recommend going to a local running store and get fitted. You can walk in running shoes and the best fit depends on your stride and foot. The different shoe manufacturers make similar shoes for the different types of runners and walkers. What works for me won't work for you.

If you are doing more studio type things or gym based exercise, you can probably go to a store like Kohl's or JCP and try on the different cross trainers and see what feels best.

Side note: since you have knee trouble, make sure your doctor has cleared you for exercise.

Anyone found some really good workout shoes? I have trouble with my knees and do better if I have good soles like the Sketcher go walk shoes. Not good for exercising though. Any ideas? Soft soles.

I am no longer depriving myself to reach a goal. I am nourishing myself today!
