Definitely ask your medical team what you can do. I know that someone ending up recommending pedals for my grandfather, so that he could "bike" or work out his arms, and those worked out well. Basically the pedals are just a triangle with the pedals like your bike has. You can place them in front of any chair you feel comfortable in and pedal like you were on a bike without the balance issues of being on one. He used it in his favorite recliner. You could also place them on the table and pedal with your hands. Again, if your medical team thinks that this would work for you.
