If I eat ANY sugar (fake or real) I just crave more and more. So I have chosen to eliminate it most days. Once in awhile I still have some here and there but try to do it at dinner meal so it doesn't make me crave whole day. It's crazy to keep track of food and cravings and what causes what. Fried food does same thing as sugar to me too!

I struggle with sweets too. Fortunately my husband is not a sweet eater so I just don't have any in the house when I'm trying to be careful of what I eat. I also love ice cream!! Since I've just restarted the program after a 3-yr absence, I'm feeling pretty motivated right now. The struggles will come, but we can get past them!! emoticon

I am struggling SO much lately, but today I haven’t had any cravings at all. That really proves to me that my candy-cravings are just that; cravings, that will pass with time. But this is HARD!

Oh I know this pain so well! Your craving likely has two components. If you have been continuously working for 5 hours, it could be a simple feeling of hunger - then a regular balanced meal would do the trick. Alternatively, it's a habit, and then candies can be substituted with something else. I can successfully stay away from sweets by eating more fruits, for example, today it was a handful of grapes.

It is difficult not to eat. Think of a few strategies and try them. Eventually you will find something that works.

My husband loves to eat sweets, fortunately for me I don't like the sweets that he likes so it not a problem for me.
