i just ate 3 doritos....it is late in the evening and i usually get a craving for "something" before winding down before bed, and one thing i have learned to be able to do is actually eat tiny amounts of things that USED to be triggers...but, instead of running from food ....i have learned to just satisfy the craving by going ahead and eating a little bit of something that is not good for me...then...remembering that i need to log it on spark people AND, looking forward to having a day that is within my calorie range keeps me in check...ok, time to go report my 3 chips to my nutrition tracker

Here's a new Zone recipe I just received in an email today. It looks very yummy. I cant' wait to try it!



"Shrimp Scampi with Green Onions and Orzo

This dish is like risotto (only quicker and easier) and features cooked orzo topped with garlicky shrimp.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:
1 pkg Zone Orzo
2 tsp butter - divided
1 tsp olive oil
1 clove garlic - minced
3 oz medium shrimp - uncooked, deveined and peeled (about 10)
1 green onion, thinly sliced
1.5 tbsp dry white wine


Directions:
1. Prepare orzo according to package directions. Drain, transfer to large bowl.
2. Meanwhile, melt one-half the butter with oil in heavy, large skillet over medium high heat. Using garlic press, squeeze in garlic; stir 10 seconds. Add shrimp and sauté two minutes. Add green onions and toss until shrimp are just opaque in center, about one minute longer. Add wine and toss until wine boils, about one minute. Mix in remaining butter and season to taste with salt and pepper.
3. Top orzo with shrimp and onion-garlic butter.
