My new favorite quote and hopefully this will help you with comparing your life to others.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. Sometimes it's a septic tank.

I take that to mean some people (especially people on Instagram) are full of something and it's not life.

My grandma had a septic tank and it was true. The grass above the septic tank was so lush and green

There are two things that I loathe.
One is Winter!
The second are people who act like they are perfect. Especially when it comes to their diet.

I don't even like the rooms pictured on Pinterest. The current trend is gray and white.

For me that looks cold and sterile. Like a room that would be in an institution. The opposite of warm and inviting. Like a home should be.

The people that I have noticed that everyone likes are just genuinely nice people. It has nothing to do with how they look.

I have had friends who didn't look remarkable, but they were warm and welcoming. People would mention how beautiful they were.

They generally cared lots about others and less about themselves. They also didn't compare themselves to others. They were content. They just are

I don't care if you live in a pinterest worthy home. Or have boatloads of liquid cash. Or People magazines most beautiful, if you don't treat people right.

I also agree with Michelle. The only perfect person is Jesus.

I agree. Kindness is beautiful.

“Je ne sais quoi”, I know not what.

Focus on what you do know.

Love yourself, and if you can’t make the changes that allow you to.

Spread that love, and the example that it represents, to the generations beyond you.

There is no bad food, only bad cooks.

I recently found out that filters are so April 2019. Now these Instagram stars are using presets.

Even when they post a no makeup selfie. Many times they have had. Juvederm, botox, lipo suction, breast implants, microblading, expensive facials, microdermabrasion, etc. So even the real and raw pictures are neither.

Best to realize that you are enough. The beauty standards are impossible to achieve.

The women who have had a bunch of work done in their 20's and 30's. Will utterly regret it in their 40's and 50's. When they look like a muppet.

I keep telling you,
Instagram and social media is everyone's highlight reel.
People usually don't post their real struggle. They are too busy writing essays on Instagram about how freaking happy they are.

It's really hard not to compare nowadays because of social media and society's extra high standards.

I'm super nice. If you met me, you'd probably be suprised.
I definately want a pretty home. When you clean toilets all day you want to come home to something that's beautiful. I'm litterally cleaning s*** off walls, home needs to be respite.

I really doubt any of the stars actually drink or use the diarrhea tea they sell on Instagram.

I've never been a Beyonce fan so I don't get the hype around her, for example.
I used to actually look at the magazines, looking for the stars' fitness secrets if the cover promised them. I don't anymore. It's all green juices and equipment I don't have access to.

A real life example of some with the "It factor" is my sister.Everyone seems to like her (you all know siblings are different towards friends that to family LOL) Especially when she was in high school and college. I figured it was because she was super thin and spent most of her money on stylish clothes(which naturally looked good on her). My sister is still it on a stick even though she's not as tiny as she used to be and I don't understand why.

Whoops it appears I posted in the Diet and Nutrition section instead of Cafe. Can someone move this please?

That certain something is called, marketing.

When someone asks me who is a "star", I think Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Clark Gable. Those people had charisma.

Internet sensations don't really have something. They only have something because the markets spin it so people think they do.

Sophia Loren once said,"Sex appeal is 50% what you have and 50% what they think you have."

Michelle hit the nail on the head. It is indeed nothing but idolatry.

It's called idolatry.
People often fail to realize that every human is merely a human.
The only perfect role model in human form was Jesus.

Its a mythical quality...created by the media mostly.... People "adore them" because they don't know them to be just as 'normal' as the rest of us. Many of the same frustrations, challenges, and dreams unfulfilled...as well as personal situations to be celebrated, and challenges met.

Skip the magazines, and find things in your own Life to enjoy and work on!

I'm not obsessed with stars (I see them on the cover of magazines like Shape and wish I was that skinny but I don't need to know who they're dating or whatever)
What fascinates be about stars (and certain people in real life) is how people adore them. Maybe they have that "It factor",je ne sais quoi" or "certain something" Is that a quality that can be developed or do you have to be born with it?
