My son-in-law has Celiac Disease so has to follow a Gluten Free diet.

I don't know if this will help you but here are links to 2 Gluten Free Recipe sites:
www.coeliac.org.uk/information-and-support
/your-gluten-free-hub/home-of-gluten-f
ree-recipes/

coeliac.org.nz/product-category/recipes/

If you are new to this way of eating, it can be daunting to start with but in actual fact, it is quite a doddle .... IF you are preparing your food yourself. If you eat out, ensure that the kitchen staff are aware of the need for Gluten Free. If they don't seem very sure, run a mile.

My son-in-law has Celiac Disease and he and my daughter lived with me for quite some time, so now instead of buying normal flour, I buy a variety:
* Chickpea
* Brown Rice Flour
* Plain Rice Flour
* Buckwheat Flour
* Polenta (fine ground) (great mixed with other flours for Pizza base)
* Almond Meal
* Coconut Flour
* Cornflour (in NZ SOME cornflour is made with WHEAT so it pays to read the labels)

The Chickpea flour I only use for savoury foods, and the Coconut flour only where I want a coconut flavour, but the rest, if I am baking I tend to mix them (better results)

Ensure that the Baking Powder is from a gluten free source, too.

Take care,
Kris

thank you for your quick response.

Now, combining my experimenting and reading both replies, I totally agree with you both and I understand what needs to be done on my part.

I thank SparkPeople for providing me and other member with all the database for the gluten free "diet".

Spark does not have specifically a gluten-free meal plan, that is not the same as saying spark has no gluten free foods loaded into their database, with lots more loaded by users. You can probably find most common gluten-free items already listed, and you can easily add your own if you have the nutrition info. You'll just have to make the gluten-free choices yourself, as Spark won't do that for you automatically.

Thank you for responding so quickly.
I'm so glad that SparkPeople allows me to track Gluten Free foods that I will provide.

As an experiment, I just put in 1 slice of Gluten Free bread (not naming the brand name) and I got so many, many possibilities, including my brand name.

You can certainly track your nutrition using the tracker, but I think you would have to control the foods you eat on your own to ensure no gluten. I don't think there are gluten-free meal plans, just regular and Diabetic.

I would like to track my food plan, which is Gluten Free, in SparkPeople.
I couldn't find a Gluten Free food plan between the choices that SparkPeople offer.
I would appreciate getting an information on the Gluten Free "diet" in SparkPeople, if it is available.

Thank you

Mimi
